We present a system for a robust transmission of audio signalsover lossy channels. For protection against losses in the network duringtransmission we use a Forward Error Correcting (FEC) scheme called ErasureResilient Transmission (ERT).ERT provides multiple levels of redundancy in order to protect the differentcontents of a data set according to their importance. The task of optimallyassigning redundancies for the ERT encoding scheme is investigated for uniformquantized digital audio signals here.
